Why the Ministry of Interior Ignored Releasing the Last 4 Detainees of the Organization "Al Taaifa Al Mansoura"(the supported group". 22/12/2007 Maat center announces its support and praise for The Ministry of Interior's initiative regarding releasing 6 detainees of 22 young men who were detained two years ago, calling for the minister of interior to end the file of this issue by releasing the other 4 who are still detained in Al Fayoom Jail. Security Bodies announced on 19 April 2006, that they discovered a terrorist organization includes 22 people of districts Kotsika, Al Zawya Al Hamraa, Midan Lebnan, organization called "Al Taaifa Al Mansoura". This organization accused of "intending" to explode natural gas lines , some tourist places and buildings and of planning for assassination campaign aimed at some Muslim and Christian religion men, witnesses of the detainees' relatives collected by Maat asserted that The Ministry of Interior detained them at the end of January of the same year. Some Christians in the district of Al Zawya Al Hamraa denied that their detained neighbors"9 detainees of Al Zawya district" may have any relationship with these accusations. Assertions of the other detainees' relatives "one detainee of Midan Lebnan, and 12 of Kotsika district beside Maadi district" asserted that wide detention campaign in the two districts collected their sons.
The center Legal unite with number of juridical organizations, and freedoms committee in Bar Association followed up investigations in this case in which the security body's high prosecutor reached that the 22 young men are not guilty, but they were detained again in Toraa jail after the security bodies issued an administrative reports to detain them using their powers authorized by martial law. The Egyptian Parliament agrees to reactivate this law for two years, few days after discovering the so-called organization. Then detainees were transported to Damanhoor jail, most of them were released gradually, until 10 of them were still detained, then they transported to Al Fayoom Jail and 6 of them were released who are" Nabeel Mohamed, Mohamed Salah Ibraheem, Ahmed Mostafa Saber, Abd Al Aziz Foaad, Tamer Abd El Nabi and Mohamed Abd Allah Bakry". The center while praising the Ministry of Interior for activate the law – the step which is too late –calling for Major General Habib El Adly to issue an immediate report to release the last 4 persons in this group who are: Ahmed Gaber "classified by security body as the organization's boss". Ahmed Basyoony "classified by the security body as assistant of the organization's boss". Yahia Soliman Ahmed "classified by security body as the organization's Mufti". Mohamed Ahmed Saeed "a friend of detainees of Kotsika". The center asserts the right of the whole group of 22 persons to deliver a clear apology for their suffering as a result of detaining them according to administrative reports, harming their reputations by accusations they are not guilty of, as investigation bodies resulted in. They also has the right to be compensate for financially, psychologically, and morally harms they suffered with their families in their detention period…it may be a new sign of hope to review habilitating them and rejoining them in the Egyptian society, that the minister Habib Al Adly may release a report- in a ceremony like Police Day- to return those detainees to their jobs which they lose through their detention period. Also, relative bodies together may try to return those detainees again in life and to end any ideas against society may established inside them as a result of their suffering through their detention period, and as a result of their relatives suffering outside jails as well. http://maat-law.org/Reports/zeara%20maat.pdf
