Maat announces broadcasting its Online Radio Maat Radio.... A new platform for freedom without borders 27\12\2009
Internet window is a technology grant for who search for unlimited boarders of their liberty and wishing to communicate with the others through non-traditional ways. Online Radio station that broadcast online via the Internet is one of the applications of the international information network that can play a pivotal role in the deployment of human rights culture among a significant segment by virtue of quantity and serious by virtue of quality
In the context of belief that human rights movement dealing positively with variables of the age and the need for training programs and qualifying youth to be commensurate with these changes and enable youth to employ them in the context of protecting and promoting human rights. Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights Association in cooperation with the Life Center for Human Rights concluded the training course for internet broadcasting in the promotion of human rights (Training course for Programs Preparers and Radio Program Presenters).
The training course was held from Saturday, December 19th, 2009 until Thursday, December 24th 2009 and was attended by 25 young men and women from the Internet activists. The training course was held at Maat association headquarter with a wide range of trainers and experts in the fields of preparation and presentation of radio broadcasting, internet broadcasting and human rights.
Maat Radio is a quantum leap in the nature of human rights work and its mechanisms also considered a substantial and necessary addition to the tools that can be used to promote and protect human rights, as well as considered a tool to respond to age changing and commensurate with the nature of the concerns of the vast majority and the most influential of the target group, namely youth, users of the Internet and alternative media activists.
Maat Radio program’s map at its first session include a number of programs that reflect the nature of Maat’s interest in the coming period that map matches with its strategic plan in supporting popular monitoring for the elections, supporting decentralization and good local governance and the use of Rights -based Approach to improve the quality of public services provided to citizens at the local level. Map also includes a special program for bloggers and users of alternative media and it’s a definition, training and news component at the same time.
Maat has appointed (6) of trainees in the radio which expected to be launch at the beginning of the new year, also gave the opportunity for practical training for the rest of the trainees were divided according to a timetable to ensure their benefit from their presence in the radio effectively, and ensure their skills and acquire them useful experience. Working in the radio will be under the supervision of specialists and experts of presenters, preparers of programs and sound engineers in the Egyptian Radio and online radio.
Maat association seeks to get the new radio to be a platform available for all Egyptian civil society organizations working in rights-based and development fields where they can communicate with the target groups, present their ideas and visions of reform and to highlight the activities and programs carried out by them. Maat undertakes that freedom in Maat radio will be without borders as long as it promoting the respect for human rights
