Al Harania village may be more popular at the international level of many areas in Egypt because of the nature of archaeological and environmental industries and trade mission, led by industry Alnol hand made carpet, however, this historical village suffers from environmental problems and service shameful forehead and not commensurate with what it deserves to be the same.

 The seminar which was held by the "Maat" in the village of Al Harania on Thursday, May 21, 2009, on the extent of the decline in basic services for the village and how long neglect and disregard by the executive agencies behaving towards them, and revealed that the corruption in the municipalities has been out of the way as the common expression of Dr. Zakaria Azmi , and arrived at the Cape. The seminars for citizens in the framework of the Citizen’s voice project , who treated in cooperation with the Foundation for the Future (FFF) in four governorates and in coordination with the Egyptian civil institution in each governorate, where the seminar was held in coordination with (justice) foundation , the project aims to build a mechanism for communication between citizens and council members local people's elected and raise the efficiency , effectiveness and response of the members of the local people's congresses, the development of effective means to identify the needs of citizens.

 Seminars aimed at raising the awareness of citizens, the work of local people's congresses and the identification of the work of evaluation and monitoring of the elected members of local problems and needs urgent and the interaction with the people's congresses in the solution of these problems, and seminars aimed at building a mechanism to mobilize the community to resolve these problems.

 The seminar dealt with the definition of the system and the status of the local people's congresses at the local organization and the importance of the councils which are members of the high number of 53010 members, an average of a member to each 1400 citizen , also comes as the importance of the citizens, and members of the same suffering as suffering from the problems by living in one geographical scope and the same vulnerability to the social, economic and environmental needs of ordinary citizens, also addressed the seminar participants to review the vision changes due to the local Egyptian and weaknesses in current law for local administration of impediments to the work of the councils and local people.

 At the level of monitoring of local problems and needs , the seminar appear the suffering of Al Harania’s people from group of series of environmental disasters , the first underground water level rise due to some infringements on the waterways surrounding the village by some powerful and tourist resorts , and the second disaster is the lack of drinking water continuously or semi-continuous, even forcing residents to buy water from other villages nearby, where the price of one tank of water to about one pound.

 The problem of the proliferation of garbage is endemic in the village to the absence of a mechanism to get rid of them experienced the tragedy of other people in the villages, which led to the proliferation of mosquitoes and other insects are disastrous plague residents of the village and cause them many troubles in their daily lives , and the last was related to the problems of village bread, which make people sometimes stay overnight to get to the furnace because of corruption and leakage of the exact zip up some bakery owners to control the supply and the weakness of them.

 Maat calls upon the executive and the local bodies to quickly find durable solutions to the suffering of Al Harania’s people which lies only 4 kilometers from the finest regions of the Greater Cairo and the spread of some resorts of elite.
