Maat discusses
the problems of people in three governorates

The establishment of direct and constructive dialogue between the principal parties involved in the process of local development is in itself a goal deserve achieving , so the workers in the field of development, whether they are organizations or individuals to encourage the establishment of any forum that combines the executive , the popular leaders and citizens in order to discuss the problems and needs of them and the search for ways to solve them.
In the context of Maat's belief in the value and usefulness of such meetings have been held three seminars in the past few days, where the first seminar was held on Saturday, July 25, 2009 in Bndf Village in Sharkyia , in coordination with Al Mashreq Foundation for development and population, and the second workshop was held in Helwan youth Center on Saturday, July 25, 2009 in coordination with the Foundation of Sahebit Al Galala , the third seminar hold in Mahamid Kebli village in Arment in Qena on Wednesday approved July 29, 2009.
These seminars are held in the framework of the project is citizen's voice is a developmental and Juridical project implemented by Maat in cooperation with the Foundation for the Future (FFF) in a number of governorates of Egypt, in coordination with a group of NGOs in the governorates, and in the context of seeking of Maat to ensure that Networking work and building the capacity of civil society organizations at the local level as one of the requirements of the local activation of the participation of civil society organizations in the comprehensive local development, the project aims to build a mechanism for communication between citizens and members of elected local people's councils and increase the efficiency and effectiveness of response and the members of the local people's councils, the development of effective means to identify the needs of citizens.
And seminars aimed at raising the awareness of citizens, the work of local people's councils and raise their ability to assess the work of elected members who represent them on these boards, and seminars aims at monitoring the local problems and the urgent needs of the citizens and council members over the interaction of citizens in the solution of these problems, and workshops aimed at disseminating the concept of and a culture of decentralization and good local governance among citizens at the local level and prepare them to deal with the variables associated with the empowerment of localities. Seminars have revealed a number of problems experienced by residents in areas that seminars hold in , in the village of Bndf for example, citizens suffer from the lack of a network of sanitation in the village, leading to many health problems and the spread of epidemics, as well as the problem of increasing and intensity of students in the class and multiple of periods of study and which affects the degree of absorption of the students and all agreed to submit the request to the Ministry of Education and educational buildings for the construction of another school, the village and all those present to sign the request and have expressed their willingness to donate a plot of land to help build the school.
In Helwan people suffer from the lack of cleaning services, or to the low efficiency, on the other hand, the administrative boundaries that have been changed after the establishment of Helwan governorate in the last year is still a problem for a large proportion of citizens with regard to juvenile interests and government agencies that must resort to them to do so.
In the village of Mahamid Kebli in Armant was suffering in a different form, where the inhabitants of the Al Syool houses built by the government years ago, the spread of termites, known as the "Alkarda" which leads to the collapse of roofs of houses made of wood over the heads of their inhabitants, as well as people suffering from high the value of the taxes of the State property , and the tax Department deliberate to delay the collection of tax every year and left to accumulate for several years, which would lead to the inability of citizens to pay all at once, it was agreed during the seminar on the cooperation of Maat with the Council of the Town and Arment City represented in its leader, who was a participant in the meeting With the aid of a number of local popular councils members in resolving this problem.
